The Educational Leadership in practice master programme at the University of Manchester has been a truly transformative experience. It has equipped me with a diverse skill set and strategies to enhance the academic environment and foster a stronger sense of community in my school.
The courses provided valuable insights into the complexities of educational leadership and deepened my understanding of different leadership approaches. This knowledge has guided my decisionmaking and has had a positive impact on my role as a head of high school. After working in education for around six years, I wanted to strengthen my practice and enhance my future opportunities within the field. I found the ELiP programme was well suited to my aspirations; furthermore, combining the theory alongside the practical elements at the same time as working really enhanced my professional capabilities. This course also enabled me to connect with other professionals and understand the practical application of theory within their own contexts, and draw comparisons, and consider differences and similarities between different approaches and perspectives.
